In the beginning: March 10, 1947
Mother Mary of the Assumption, from Montreal founded this Carmelite monastery. Mother Mary return to her Beloved in Sept 24, 1977. Her last words, "Tell all our benefactors that I love them. From heaven I will show my gratitude. I will help them."
The First Convent in Bankerohan, Davao
March 10, 1947 was the day which the first Holy Mass was celebrated for the newly founded Carmelite Monastery.
The Founding Nuns with Bishop Luis del Rosario, SJ
It was the wish of Archbishop Luis del Rosario to begin a Carmelite foundation here in Davao.

The New Chapel
In 1953 Dr and Mrs Juan Belisario, gifted a parcel of land and Dr and Mrs Dacudao gifted an additional half hectare as the frontage. The Chapel was dedicated on Dec 10, 1972.

The gift of Carmel in the heart of the Mother Church now surrounded with malls, hotels and business beats to intercede for God's people and stands as a beacon of hope and life to all who come .
